Science Communication

Events

I have been collaborating on a series of science communication events - 'Tricks of the Psych Trade - funded by the British Psychological Society (BPS).

This event expands upon the methods psychologists use such as brain imaging, cognitive experimentation and psychophysiological techniques. It features an interactive talk with ‘live’ skin conductance responses being displayed, an exhibition by Peter Myers - an artist with Asperger's Syndrome, and a sonic art installation by digital artist Julie Freeman entitled 'In Sound Mind'.

The event showed twice at the Dana Centre, part of the Science Museum, in London in 2006, initially as part of the Node.London programme. It was then repeated in Sheffield in March 2008, and as the launch event for National Science Week 2008 in York in conjunction with Science City York.

In November 2008, we are again on the road, takng the event to Millfield School in Somerset.
